For four decades, Rabbi Judy Chessin has been the heart and soul of Temple Beth Or. As our founding and Dayton’s longest-serving rabbi since 1985, she has guided our congregation with wisdom, warmth, and unwavering dedication.
Through her inspiring sermons, creative programs, and heartfelt guidance during life’s sacred moments, Rabbi Chessin has helped shape cherished memories, making every person feel seen, valued, and embraced.
Rabbi Chessin’s devotion shines through every stage of life and learning—from joyful bonds with children to personalized B’nai Mitzvah prep, and profound teachings for teens and adults through weekly Torah study and adult education classes. She leaves a lasting impact on all who enter our doors.
