A Hanukkah happening

Thank you all for making the first annual Hanukkah Family Day an amazing success. With over 300 latkes, 10 exciting skits and acts and one rousing number by “Elvis” Lazarow - we once again proved what an exciting place Temple Beth Or is to go to school. I heard cheers and laughter. I watched shy 5 year olds come out of their shells and not so shy teachers work so hard to help the students succeed.

I am consistently reminded just how unique and special our school is, and today was a prime example. Parents be so proud of your latkes, dreidels, candles, thespians and singers. We sure are!!!

Remember next week is our last class of first semester. Thank you for such a great time.

Be well,

Rabbi David Burstein

Attention Boy Scouts!

Calling all TBO Cub Scouts. Scout Shabbat is scheduled for Saturday, January 26. Any Cub Scouts (and parents) who are interested in working toward their religious emblems should join us for a brief meeting immediately following religious school on Sunday, December 16. At that time, we'll talk about the requirements for each emblem, and discuss the process for completing the requirements. Tiger and Wolf Scouts may work on their Maccabee emblem and Bear and Webelos Scouts may work on their Aleph emblem. For information about the Cub Scout religious emblems, please contact Scott Segalewitz at segalewitz@udayton.edu or 937-885-6868.

Recommended reading from Rabbi Burstein

If you attended Rabbi Burstein's class on Shalom Bayit at our Fifth Friday Shabbat celebration, he mentioned a book. The book is entitled "A Day Apart: Shabbat at Home" by Noam Zion and Shawn Fields-Meyer. You may purchase the book online at Amazon.com by following this link.
