Why give to Temple Beth Or?

Because Temple Beth Or is...

...your most basic point of connection to your Jewish tradition and community through worship, education and significant life-cycle events,

...a place of spirituality and learning, where people reach out to one another during times of celebration and sadness,

...committed to meaningful Social Action,

Because member dues and other income do not fully cover the costs of keeping our gates open to all… Because it is a great way to honor or thank a friend or relative; to remember loved ones and friends; or to celebrate a special occasion…

Because you and your family have found something significant here...

  • caring Clergy and teachers,
  • relationships, connections, a community

Because you want to support Temple Beth Or’s legacy….

Building A Legacy

Temple Beth Or rests on a solid foundation of worship, education, and community. Our parents and grandparents laid the foundation for our success and generations have built upon it. Our children and grandchildren will inherit it as a priceless legacy. It is the challenge of our generation today to preserve and to strengthen what past generations have built. Increasing our permanent endowment funds is critical to meet current and future needs of our Temple community. Income from the Endowment Funds allows our programs and services to flourish throughout the Congregation and help preserve and maintain our Temple.

Endowment and Planned Giving

Making an outright endowment gift today or providing for a legacy gift in your estate plan is a clear statement about the values and beliefs that have shaped your life, as well as your vision of the congregation for future generations. The Board of Directors seeks your support to preserve and enhance the rich legacy of our congregation by securing vital endowment funds. You can create a permanent legacy to nourish Jewish life for ourselves, our children and our grandchildren, and for the generations to come. Some common ways to create a permanent legacy include:

  • Outright Gifts of Cash or Securities
  • Bequests in a Will or Trust
  • Retirement Plan Benefits
  • Life Insurance Policies
  • Charitable Trusts
  • Private Foundation Transfers

Our Endowment Funds are our safety nets. They allow us to grow and be responsive to current needs and also perpetuate what has been built and nurtured over the years. Your financial support honors our past and heralds our future.

Please consult your legal and/or financial advisor about including Temple Beth Or in your estate plans or about an outright gift to the Temple. If you would like additional information, as you consider making an endowment gift of any size, please contact Craig Self, Development Committee Chair, at 937 435-3400 or send an email to the Temple office.
